Seiko
Movements
From the Seiko forum on Timezone.
7S26 is the base caliber for the
whole 7Sxx line. The line is composed by the following calibers:
- 7S26 - 21 jewels, day/date
- 7S25 - 21 jewels, date only
- 7S36 - 23 jewels, day/date
- 7S35 - 23 jewels, date only
- 7S55 - 23 jewels, date only, decorated movement
The 7S36 is the same movement as the 7S26, but with two additional
jewels that, as I often say, didn't give you (the user) any pratical benefit.
The 7S55 is just a 7S36 with better finishing, and have decoration at the
rotor. It is used on the Seiko 5 Superior line.
